JJ Watt Makes Touching Donation to Family of Firefighter Killed in Shooting

One of the many things we've come to learn about JJ Watt is that he has a heart of gold.
The Houston Texans defensive end donated $10,000 to the family of an Appleton, Wis. firefighter who was killed in a shooting on Wednesday.

The firefighter, Mitchell Lundgaard, was shot while responding to a call of a medical emergency. The 14-year firefighting veteran was a husband and a father to three children.
A University of Wisconsin alum and Wisconsin native, Watt made the donation less than 13 hours after the family created a GoFundMe page.
It's just the latest example of Watt's incredible kindness. He most notably raised over $37 million for hurricane relief after the city of Houston was devastated by Hurricane Harvey.

Watt has a history of making donations to grieving families. In 2018, he donated $10,000 to the family of a fire captain who was killed in an explosion.
Such heartwarming actions are why the 2017 Walter Payton Man of the Year is held in such high regard by fans and fellow athletes alike.
