JJ Watt Reveals Injury Limitations and Outlook Ahead of Texans' Playoff Clash With Bills
The Houston Texans defense will be getting some much needed help from the cavalry for their Wild Card clash with the Buffalo Bills. Three-time AP Defensive Player of the Year JJ Watt will be making his long awaited return from injured reserve after missing the second half of the 2019 season.
While Watt will be playing a significant amount of snaps, at least according to head coach Bill O'Brien, ESPN's Ed Werder reports that Watt said he'll have a limited role.
Considering this is Watt's first in-game action since suffering the pectoral injury that has sidelined him for the last two months, a limited snap count was to be expected. With a high chance of re-injury and several more rounds of games to be played, the team must be cautious about not rushing Watt into action too soon.
Yet Watt's miraculous recovery from this injury -- that many had pegged as season ending -- is just further proof that the Watt boys are not human. Despite his supposedly limited role in this week's contest, Watt's intention to "let it loose" suggests that we will be seeing a full effort performance from the future Hall of Famer.
With Watt having mysteriously conquered this devastating injury, the Texans may very well be able to pull of a deep playoff run. That all starts with their performance against the Bills on Saturday afternoon, during which fans can expect to see Watt make some key defensive plays.
