JJ and TJ Watt Roast Each Other Over Workout Footage and Defensive Player of the Year Honors
By Scott Rogust
There is such a thing as brotherly love, but it's not manifesting for the Watt brothers on this fine Sunday. JJ and TJ, two of the more dominant defenders in the NFL today, have resorted to trolling and bickering to get under the other's skin.
On Sunday, the Houston Texans linebacker posted a workout video of himself running in place with a resistance band around his waist. Of course, the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker played the role of "annoying little brother" and roasted him.
Way to poke the bear, TJ. And of course, the younger Watt was right in his assessment that bigger brother would come back with a vengeance.
JJ hitting TJ right where it hurts, because there was no "almost" about it. And the young Steelers star accepted his "L."
In case you were living under a rock, TJ finished in third place in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting, where he received 10-of-50 votes, despite recording 55 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and two interceptions. He finished behind Arizona Cardinals linebacker Chandler Jones and eventual winner Stephon Gilmore of the New England Patriots.
TJ has a long way to go to begin roasting JJ about his trophy case, considering he has three Defensive Player of the Year awards to his credit. But hey, he's got a long career ahead of him, so there's time. Until then, little bro was put in his place.
