New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick might try to portray himself as a mute football automaton, but he is really quite the eccentric, with a burgeoning interest in history, politics, trivia, and sports outside of football.
Despite Belichick being famously tight-lipped when it came to player availability and game-day strategy, the likes of Joe Buck and a few other broadcasters have been able to get a glimpse of the man behind the hoodie, who they claim will talk your ears off about just about anything.
It's a shame that we never get to see this side of Bill, because he sounds like a real character.
You could be the biggest Patriots hater in the world, but if you're saying that you don't want to hear the greatest coach in football history discuss General Sherman's strategy during the Civil War, then you're doing yourself a disservice.
Being unwilling to let anything that might aid the enemy get out of the team building or his mouth is one of the keys for success Belichick has employed over his career.
