Joe Burrow's Family is Annoyed at Suggestion He'd Ever 'Pull an Eli' and Refuse to Play for the Bengals
By Jerry Trotta

The Cincinnati Bengals executed tanking to the utmost perfect this past season, and they were ultimately rewarded with the No.1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
It's since been reported that the franchise is widely expected to ignore any potential trade offers for a flurry of first-rounders, hold serve, and select LSU gunslinger Joe Burrow.
Given the organization's apparent dysfunction, speculation has also surfaced indicating that Burrow could attempt to "pull an Eli Manning" and shun his native Bengals. Well, the Heisman's family is not pleased with those rumors.
Family source also tells me Joe Burrow would never “pull an Eli Manning” if drafted No. 1 by the #Bengals.

The family has been a bit annoyed by that narrative.
Of course, Manning and his family practically forced their way out of San Diego after the Chargers selected him No.1 overall back in 2004. The Giants eventually got on the phone and swapped their selection, Philip Rivers (No.4 overall), for the Ole Mis product.

Call that a PR stunt if you must, but the kid passed the test in that regard, and it shouldn't be held against him just because of Cincy's ineptitude. Burrow's family has every right to be annoyed.
There's nothing wrong with a good sports debate, but let's not reach for narratives that simply aren't there.
