5 Unforgettable Moments From Joe Burrow's Heisman Season at LSU
By Chris Pyo

Joe Burrow has officially been named the winner of the 2019 Heisman Trophy. Not only that, but he's also positioned himself to potentially be the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft in an incredible turnaround for a player who failed to land the starting gig at Ohio State and had to transfer to a program not particularly known for developing stud quarterbacks. To celebrate the LSU quarterback's accomplishments, here are five unforgettable moments from his season thus far.

LSU was put to the test early in the season by No. 9 Texas, but Burrow threw for 471 yards along with four touchdowns to lead the Tigers to a 45-38 win, setting the tone for the season. He even managed to wave goodbye to Texas fans that had been heckling him all game long, showing some moxie and character that excited LSU fans.

It only took Burrow seven games to break the LSU single-season passing touchdown record with 29, surpassing JaMarcus Russell and Matt Mauck's record of 28. By then, the LSU fanbase knew they had something special in Death Valley, and they've been riding the Burrow train to the top ever since.
3. Surviving Auburn
Auburn nearly spoiled LSU's season on Oct. 26, but Burrow made a couple of gutsy plays, including a seven-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to seal a 23-20 win over the blue-and-orange Tigers and keep LSU's hopes of an undefeated season and a CFB Playoff berth alive.
2. Slaying Alabama
Before this game, Alabama hadn't lost to LSU in a full eight years. Eight! That is, until Burrow delivered a magnificent performance, where he passed for 393 yards and three touchdowns while leading LSU to a 46-41 win over the Crimson Tide, delivering the first blow to Nick Saban's hopes at reaching the College Football Playoff.

Burrow's pocket escape against Georgia in the SEC Championship essentially iced the entire game midway through the third quarter, as there was no way the Bulldogs were recovering from that devastating play. Somehow, with two massive defensive linemen chasing him, Burrow managed to show off his agility and pocket pressure skills and made an incredible throw on the run for a 71-yard completion. That's the magic of Joe Burreaux that LSU fans are hoping to see in the College Football Playoff.
