Ed Orgeron Claims Joe Burrow's Phone Broke This Week and He Has No Interest in Replacing it

The LSU Tigers discovered a gem in Joe Burrow, who has become a beloved member of the program over the course of a dream 2019 season.
His legend will only continue to grow with a win Saturday. To hear his head coach tell it, he's totally locked in with no distractions for the SEC Championship Game by default -- his phone broke.
Joe Burrow’s phone “broke” this week, Ed Orgeron says, and he didnt want it replaced because he’s focused on the SEC title game. #LSU

This is a monumental example of coachspeak. Maybe Ed Orgeron thinks Burrow owns a rotary phone or something like that.
Either way, this will build the legend of Burrow and have older LSU fans talking about how "focused" and "determined" the quarterback is ahead of Saturday. As if he needs any extra edge after already being the Heisman Trophy favorite, huh?
Ed Orgeron said Joe Burrow's phone is broken. His parents couldn't get in touch. When they found out and wanted to get him a new one, he declined.

This is a bold way to praise a player for ignoring his parents and loved ones, coach.
Jokes aside, stone-cold focus is just another example of what has made Burrow into a potential top draft pick. If he leads LSU to a conference title and a spot in the College Football Playoff, NFL teams will eat this all up. And when that happens, he'll have enough cash on hand to get whatever replacement phone he could possibly want.
