Joe Flacco Expected to Miss 4-6 Weeks With Neck Injury

The Denver Broncos' season has been a complete wash. Sitting at 2-6, their playoff hopes are all but gone, and now the injury bug is doing them no favors.
Quarterback Joe Flacco is expected to miss 4-6 weeks with a neck injury.
After a second opinion on the bulging disc in his neck, Broncos QB Joe Flacco is now expected to be sidelined 4-6 weeks, pending reviews from Dr. Robert Watkins in LA and Dr. Jack Kelley in CT., per source. The thinking now is, No surgery necessary, pending those doctor reviews.

This has to be somewhat disheartening for Broncos fans, despite the fact that Flacco is unlikely to need surgery.
Flacco is a solid quarterback, but he's never been a game-changer despite some consideration of his 'elite' status back in Baltimore. Many wondered why John Elway even traded for him in the first place, seemingly putting a bandaid on a gaping wound.
In fact, Elway's history of drafting and developing mediocre quarterbacks has done the Broncos no favors.
John Elway has now picked Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch, Trevor Siemian, Case Keenum and Joe Flacco as his Broncos quarterbacks. There’s no denying Elway suffers from a severe case of CTE.

So maybe the problem with Denver isn't their players, but the one putting the team together. Elway is an all-time great QB who delivered two of the Broncos' three Super Bowl victories.
Yet, being a great player doesn't always translate to front office success, and Elway's decision to bring in a now-injured Flacco will likely go down as a loss in the personnel department.
