Joe Montana Advises Tom Brady Not to Leave New England if He Can Avoid it
By Michael Luciano
Tom Brady might finally face the prospect of playing somewhere other than New England now that the 42-year-old is on the open market as a free agent. While this is uncharted water for the future Hall of Famer, one QB with a gold jacket has chimed in with his two cents on what Brady's next move should be.
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana advised Brady to stay in New England at all costs, and to avoid packing up for seemingly greener pastures.
Montana, who missed almost the entirety of two seasons in San Francisco before the franchise turned the page and made Steve Young the starter, played his final two years in Kansas City. While Montana led the Chiefs to the playoffs in Year 1, it was hardly reminiscent of his days at Candlestick Park.
Brady is coming off the worst season of his career, but that won't be enough to deter teams like the Los Angeles Chargers from making a run at the legendary signal caller.
Montana ended his career with one of his worst seasons in Kansas City rather than where he was revered as a god in San Francisco. Is it really in TB12's best interests to pack it in with the Patriots to move to a less talented team on the other side of the country? Probably not.
