Joe Moorhead Names Tommy Stevens as Mississippi State Starting QB
By Mark Powell

Ring that damn cowbell!
After transferring in from Happy Valley this summer, former Penn State signal-caller Tommy Stevens has claimed the Mississippi State starting quarterback job.
Stevens had been battling with sophomore Keytaon Thompson.

Stevens did it all at Penn State, with eight touchdowns on the ground, two receiving scores and four TDs through the air.
“We kind of had an idea heading in to the scrimmage on where we were. Based on all the information that was available, statistics, completion percentage and touchdowns, you kind of have your gut feel,” Moorhead said just a few days ago. “I have an idea and might let y’all (the media) know this week.”
Coach, you're such a tease!

Mississippi State Schedule
The Bulldogs open the season against Louisiana-Lafayette and Southern Miss in back-to-back weeks. Then things get tough, as MSU take on Kansas State and Kentucky, followed by Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Alabama, Abilene Christian and finally the Egg Bowl. As is typically the case, the SEC slate is daunting and absolutely brutal at times.
Moorhead and Co. are looking to improve upon their 8-5 record from 2018, which was fairly impressive given Dan Mullen left them in the dust for Florida just before the season. This is a program trending upwards.
