VIDEO: Joe Torre Calling Derek Jeter to Congratulate Him on Hall of Fame Honor is Every Yankee Fan's Dream
By Michael Luciano

The New York Yankees chalked up another Hall of Famer to their ranks on Tuesday when shortstop Derek Jeter coasted into Cooperstown with the highest percentage that a position player has ever received. Speaking about what an honor it was to be inducted on MLB Network, Joe Torre, Jeter's former manager with the Yankees, called in to congratulate his former captain on joining him as a Hall of Famer.

That surely warmed the cockles of every Yankee fan's heart, especially those who were around to see Jeter in his prime.
Former Yankees young and old have been making the rounds in giving No. 2 his deserved congratulations for receiving the highest honor an individual player can receive, as even Alex Rodriguez gave Jeter some praise following his near-unanimous induction into Cooperstown.
To The Captain Derek Jeter - congratulations on taking your rightful place in the Baseball Hall of Fame where you will be, for eternity, as one of history’s greatest players, at any position, in any era. pic.twitter.com/nRJaeT8Vmm

Jeter won't be the last Yankee to make it into Cooperstown, but his otherworldly accomplishments deserve every bit of the adulation that they're currently receiving. With Torre, Jeter, and Mike Mussina already in, a good chunk of the Yankees' core from the late-90s dynasty has been honored in the hallowed halls of Cooperstown.
Now, it's time to get Bernie Williams the attention he deserves.
