Joel Embiid Destroys Reports About 76ers Possibly Firing Brett Brown
By Sean Facey
Prior to the Philadelphia 76ers' Game 7 matchup against the Toronto Raptors, rumors swirled that a series loss would all but assure Brett Brown would lose his spot as the team's head coach.
Joel Embiid is having none of that.
The 76ers superstar ripped the reports on Brett Brown's job security following the team's crushing defeat.
For the most part, he's right. After struggling through the famed "Process," Brown has guided the 76ers to back-to-back 50-win seasons, twice leading them to the second round of the playoffs.
It almost doesn't seem fair that Brown's status with the team could come down to a ridiculous Kawhi Leonard fadeaway that bounced four times on the rim before going in.
Embiid and Brown have been by each other's side since the beginning of Philadelphia's long tanking process back in 2013-14.
That clearly hasn't changed. Embiid has made it known where he stands on Brown's future with the 76ers. All that's left to do is wait and see where the chips fall.
