John Beilein Tweets Emotional Farewell to Michigan After Accepting Cavaliers Coaching Job

After 12 successful years with the Michigan Wolverines, head coach John Beilein is moving on up.

Beilein tweeted an emotional farewell to the school where he experienced immense success after accepting the Cleveland Cavaliers head coaching job.

Beilein thanked the entire Michigan community for their love and support while he served as head coach, signing off with "Go Blue Forever!"

During his time at Michigan, Beilein transformed the school's basketball program into a powerhouse. He finished with a 278-150 record in his 12 seasons at the helm with nine NCAA Tournament appearances and two Final Four berths to his credit.

The 2013-14 Big Ten Coach of the Year leaves the school as the winningest coach in the program's storied history, and it's not even close. 69 wins separate him and his closest competitor, Johnny Orr.

Beilein will now face the difficult challenge of rebuilding a Cavaliers team that finished with an abysmal 19-63 record this year, but if there's anyone who can right the ship in Cleveland, it's him.

It's the end of an era in Ann Arbor and the start of a new one in Cleveland, but the success Beilein brought to Michigan will never be forgotten.
