Former Bears Head Coach John Fox Wanted Deshaun Watson Over Mitchell Trubisky in 2017 Draft

Imagine how much happier Bears fans would be right now if the front office would have listened to John Fox.
There's no question Chicago signal-caller Mitchell Trubisky has been mediocre this season. Check that, he's been mediocre ever since the Bears took him No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. And Fox notably pushed for the suits upstairs in the Windy City to take Deshaun Watson instead.
Ouch.

Trubisky. Mahomes. Watson.
Three quarterbacks. Three teams. Three trades. Three paths.

In a new Chicago Tribune piece by Dan Wiederer and Rich Campbell, it was revealed that Bears GM Ryan Pace was locked in on Tribusky. Fox, Chicago's head coach from 2015-17, wanted to go in another direction with the stud from Clemson.
Thus far this season, these two have put up significantly divergent numbers. Watson has thrown for 2,432 yards and 18 touchdowns. He's added 279 yards and five scores on the ground. Trubisky on the other hand, has 1,390 yards to his name and only eight touchdowns through the air.

No argument from me here, Dov. All Bears fans can do now is ask themselves, "what if we drafted Watson instead?"
If Pace would have listened to Fox, it's possible that this team would be making a push for the NFC North title instead of sitting in third place at 4-5.
