VIDEO: Even John Lynch Thought Kyle Shanahan Should've Called Timeout Near End of Half in Super Bowl LIV
By Mark Powell

Ever wonder how little Kyle Shanahan believes in Jimmy Garoppolo? Near the end of the first half in Super Bowl LIV, Shanahan had an opportunity to save some time for a late drive and, perhaps, a chance at the lead. Instead, Shanahan sat on his hands, despite the majority of pundits (and even his own GM!) suggesting he give his quarterback a chance. John Lynch wasn't thrilled, folks.

Yes, you saw that correctly. The man disagrees with his own head coach.
For Shanahan to truly slay the 28-3 demons, he's going to need to take a chance at some point. Playing things safe against Patrick Mahomes is never a good strategy, and it seems the 49ers head coach is taking the foot off the gas pedal, which is exactly what he didn't do against the Patriots a few years ago.
Smart move by Kyle shanahan not building a superbowl lead in the first half that he can be acused of blowing later

Shanahan attended the Andy Reid school of time management. Ironically enough, the two are facing off on Sunday in a battle to see once and for all who can make more ill-informed decisions in one game.
