Johnny Manziel Trolls Himself Over NFL Career With Funny Tweet
By Scott Rogust
Johnny Manziel is no stranger to making news, but this time, it's more of what almost happened than what did.
Earlier this week, a video surfaced of the former Cleveland Browns quarterback attempting a backflip off a cliff in Arizona. As the man formerly known as Johnny Football attempted to dive into the water, he slipped on a rock. Luckily for Manziel, he got enough of a push-off with his left foot to propel himself outwards to avoid serious injury.
Of course, some will make fun of Manziel for his blunder, but the man himself jumped ahead of them, saying his cliff-diving attempt went as well as his attempt of being an NFL signal-caller.
Nice self-burn by Manziel.
As most avid football fans know, Manziel was a much-hyped draft prospect, based off his successful tenure with the Texas A&M Aggies. While he played well, his attitude and cocky demeanor turned plenty of teams off. Well, everyone except the Browns, who selected him with the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Manziel lasted just two seasons in the NFL, as Cleveland grew tired of his off-field antics. He appeared in just 14 games in his career, where he completed 57% of his passes for 1,675 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
If that fall was representative of his NFL career, we'd hate to see something similar to his stint in the Canadian Football League. All kidding aside, we're happy to see Manziel walk away from this near-disaster unharmed.
