You name the pro football league, and Johnny Manziel has probably played in it. He's already spent time in the NFL, AAF and CFL, but now "Johnny Football" has his sights set on the 2020 startup league, the XFL.

Despite all of the incidents that have derailed the journeyman from staying consistent at the highest level, Manziel continues to display a sense of urgency to keep playing the sport, citing his former coach June Jones as his newest motivation.

Jones most recently coached Manziel with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL in 2018, but will be head coach and GM of Houston's XFL team.

It's always important to ensure that a head coach and quarterback have chemistry so that communication on the field is smooth. With Manziel's open desire to play with the former NFL coach on a new team, it's clear that the connection could be beneficial for both sides.

Manziel and Jones are both NFL castoffs, with the latter last coaching the Chargers in 1998 and the former last playing for the Browns. Perhaps their football journey's will meet in Houston?
