Jon Gruden Finally Breaks His Silence About Raiders' Antonio Brown Disaster

What more is there to say about Antonio Brown? Just this week, the All-Pro wideout has gone on the shelf with frostbite (of all things) after a cryotherapy blunder, and that's now become the most universally-accepted part of his narrative.

On Friday, AB threatened to retire from football entirely if the NFL didn't permit him to use his old helmet, which is now banned under the league's new headgear policy. Virtually right after that news broke, he filed a helmet grievance against the league.

The Oakland Raiders have impressively managed to keep the drama surrounding their superstar relatively close to the vest, but Jon Gruden couldn't help but address Brown's latest antics after Saturday's preseason clash against the Rams.

"I support this guy. I think that's what needs to be said," said the vet head coach. "I don't know what anybody's writing or what anybody thinks, but this foot injury wasn't his fault. This was a total accident. It really wasn't his fault, and it's a serious injury."

"He has a strong feeling about what he's worn on his head, and we're supporting him," Gruden continued. "We understand the league's position as well, so we're in a tough spot, and we hope Antonio is here soon because he's exciting to be around. I'm excited. I've got some plays for him. I hope we can start calling them."

Finally, somebody within the Raiders organization speaks on Antonio! It was apparent that Gruden opted for the unification route, pleading for Brown to return to the organization before too long.

When that will be remains to be seen, but the ball is absolutely in Mr. Big Chest's court.
