Jon Gruden Provides Positive Update on Gareon Conley After Raiders CB Was Stretchered off the Field
By Thomas Carannante
The Oakland Raiders moved past the Antonio Brown situation and grabbed a win over the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, but the team was dealt a scare in the third quarter.
Third-year cornerback Gareon Conley was stretchered off the field after suffering an apparent neck injury in a collision with his own teammate.
The good news is that head coach Jon Gruden has a positive update on the 24-year-old, who gave a thumbs up as he was taken off the field.
It appears as if he's going to be OK.
His teammate Johnathan Abram came in late and was flagged on the play for initiating contact with his helmet on Broncos RB Royce Freeman, and his aggressive move on a play that was pretty much dead resulted in him crashing into Conley and falling on his head.
Whatever the case, Conley's situation isn't as nearly as terrifying as everyone initially thought, and that's a huge sigh of relief, being that this easily could have been career-ending.
