Jon Morosi Thinks Yankees Will Push Past Dodgers in Second Half to Be World Series Favorite
By Sean Facey

The Dodgers finished the first leg of the season with an impressive MLB-best 60-32 record. They're undoubtedly one of the best teams in baseball and seem destined to make their third consecutive World Series.
But not everybody views them as the champs-to-be. MLB analyst and insider Jon Morosi believes that the New York Yankees will push past them with a second-half surge to enter the postseason as World Series favorites.

It's not out of the realm of possibility by any means. The Dodgers may own the best record in baseball, but the Yankees are hot on their tail, standing at 57-31, and they've done that in the face of some major injuries.
The Yankees are still hopeful that ace starter Luis Severino and stud reliever Dellin Betances can return to action in the near future. They're also reportedly in the market for a starter and bullpen arm, should one or both of them continue to struggle with their injuries. Giancarlo Stanton has -- and we cannot stress this enough -- played literally nine games.
There's still plenty of room for growth for the Bronx Bombers. It's scary to think how lethal they could be with a fully healthy roster.
If you told me the Yankees would have a billion injuries, and no ace for the first half of the season and they’re 57-31 against the world and 29-9 against the AL East I’d laugh in your face. What a team. What a country.

The Dodgers are by no means pushovers, however. They've played quality baseball this year and have a star-studded team that features an MVP candidate in Cody Bellinger and the league's ERA leader in Hyun-Jin Ryu.
With that being said, the Yankees have more room to grow. Considering where they are right now into relation to the players they had to throw out on the field early in the season, it seems inevitable that they'll improve.

And any improvements they make could be more than enough to give them the edge over the Dodgers juggernaut.
