For months now, Yankees fans have been looking forward to the return of star pitcher Luis Severino. With his dynamite stuff, you can't blame everyone in the Bronx for being so eager. But, is there another arm folks should get ready for?

You better believe it. Lefty Jordan Montgomery is still on his way back from Tommy John Surgery last June and is set to make his second rehab appearance in the minors this week. The hope, per skipper Aaron Boone, is for him to be able to return to the bigs this season.

“It’s possible,” Boone said via the NY Post when asked if Montgomery could toss in the majors this campaign. “We want to make sure with that injury we do good by him in a long-term sense. … He is doing pretty well.’’

Montgomery will enter his second rehab game with some confidence. In his first showing, he tossed two scoreless innings and posted two strikeouts. Not bad for his first action in over a year.

Though Boone is being coy on the thought of Montgomery returning to the Yankees so quickly, should he keep on performing in the minors, it'd be a no-brainer to bring him up.

Holding one of the best records in the bigs, it looks like New York is about to get even stronger.
