VIDEO: Jordan Ta’amu XFL Highlights Prove He's Not Your Average Chiefs Backup
By Mark Powell
The Chiefs QB room appears to be set after Kansas City signed former St. Louis Battlehawks signal-caller Jordan Ta'amu just days after adding Chad Henne. Ta'amu could theoretically challenge Henne for that backup spot, as he's significantly younger and explosive in his own right. For those who (sadly) didn't watch much XFL action, Ta'amu is more than your average backup quarterback.
Ta'amu was a standout at Ole Miss and proved himself in his short stint in St. Louis, hence the interest in him after fellow XFL star PJ Walker signed with the Carolina Panthers. Walker and Ta'amu were two of the XFL's most prominent stars at the position. Ta'amu, in particular, showed a knack for getting involved in the ground game, and had the spiral to take advantage of small windows the threat of his legs would open up.
At one point, Ta'amu led the XFL in total yards, and that kind of explosiveness makes him an intriguing fit with the Chiefs.
