Jordy Nelson recently announced his retirement from the NFL, but on Monday he said that he is working on a one-day deal with the Packers so that he can officially retire as a member of Green Bay.

In his nine seasons as a member of the Packers, Nelson caught 69 touchdown passes and accumulated over 7,800 receiving yards.

Jordy won a Super Bowl as well as the AP Comeback Player of the Year, and was Aaron Rodgers' security blanket day in and day out.

The bond that the former Packers receiver and current Green Bay quarterback share translated to on the field success, but Nelson seems to be at ease with his decision to hang up the cleats for good.

Nelson's lone Pro-Bowl season came in 2014, when he tallied 1,519 yards along with 13 touchdowns on the year. More impressively, Nelson caught 63.8% of the passes thrown his way that year, enabling him to be one of the most effective receivers in the game.

It is fitting for a great career to end with the team that allowed him to reach to his full potential, and all of Packers nation will welcome him back with open arms for one more day.
