Jose Ramirez Officially Undergoes Hand Surgery and Will Miss Rest of Regular Season
By Parker White

It was reported over the weekend that Cleveland Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez had fractured his right hand and would miss a significant amount of time.
On Tuesday, the Indians confirmed that his right hamate bone had been fractured, and that he needed surgery to repair the damage. Ramirez then underwent the procedure on Monday and is expected to be out five-to-seven weeks.

The doctor confirmed the diagnosis of a hook of the hamate fracture and recommended surgery as the best course of action.

If that's the timeline, you can kiss the remainder of this 2019 season goodbye. You could see Ramirez back for the postseason, but you couldn't expect a lot of production from him at this point, especially without having some kind of minor league rehab assignment.
Oh, and if Ramirez returns on the latter end of that injury timeline, he won't be ready until halfway through the American League Championship Series.

This is a major blow to the Indians, who need all hands on deck if they want to run down the Minnesota Twins. Ramirez was a huge part of their recent surge, as he was slashing .327/.363/.705 with 13 home runs and 40 RBI since the All-Star break after getting off to a slow start.
