Julian Edelman signed a two-year extension with the New England Patriots on Sunday, and he made his first comments since signing the deal in an interview with Boston's WEEI. The lifetime Patriot is thrilled to be back in Foxboro for another two years.

"I love being here. I don't want to be anywhere else, and I'm excited for this upcoming year," Edelman said. With the success he's had in New England, there would be no reason why he wouldn't plan on finishing his career there.

Edelman is coming off of a stellar (albeit, suspension-shortened) season that saw him haul in 74 catches, 6 touchdowns, and a super bowl MVP award. The 33 year old is entering his 11th season with New England after being drafted out of Kent State in 2009, and he has become Tom Brady's most trusted and reliable receiver out of the slot.

Brady will surely be comforted having Edelman on the field for the Pats for two more seasons, especially with the wide receiver position being a question mark for the team in recent years. Edelman will be joined by newly-drafted N'Keal Harry and veteran Demaryius Thomas.

The two-year deal could be the final contract of Edelman's impressive career, but he's not ready to talk about retirement yet. "Honestly, I've always just been worried about what's on my plate at the time and place that I was in at that time," he remarked.

For now, he'll be focused on making yet another super bowl run with Brady and company.
