Julian Edelman Clearly Loves Mentoring Young Pats Wideouts Because He Just Compared Himself to Yoda
By Jerry Trotta

The force is alive and well in the New England Patriots locker room.
Ahead of Sunday night's tilt against the Houston Texas, Julian Edelman was asked to comment on his relationship with New England's young receiving corps, particularly rookies N'Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers.
Edelman, an apparent Star Wars fanatic, delivered quite an unorthodox response.
Julian Edelman asked about his leadership style with the young receivers, "I don't think Yoda would go out there and tell his secrets of how he trains Jedis..." #Patriots WR mentioned that he just watched Star Wars last night, hence the Yoda reference.

"No, I just watched Star Wars a couple times," Edelman continued. "Literally last night. So it’s all in my head...So that’s where I’m at."
After the Star Wars banter, Edelman ultimately gave the reporters an authentic answer about the Pats young corps of wideouts.
“They’re doing a good job, man...They’re going out and they’re playing in ballgames and making plays. I just kind of convey that you’ve to continue to try to do that every week, every day in practice... I’m excited for them. The opportunity they’re getting, and that they’ve earned. It’s up to them to see where they go and I’ve got a lot in them. They work hard. And we need them," Edelman said.
Julian Edelman? Or Yoda?

Even when New England's offense isn't clicking, they remain as tight-knit as any bunch in the NFL. Sooner or later, that cohesion will translate to a sheer eruption on the gridiron.
Perhaps Houston's pedestrian secondary will provide that get right opportunity on Sunday Night Football.
