New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman's 4-game PED suspension in 2018 is old news at this point, following his Super Bowl MVP performance this past February, but one interesting tidbit on the topic came out on his new documentary "100 Percent Julian Edelman," which aired on Showtime this week.

According to Edelman and his mother, Angie, the wideout's suspension and subsequent decisions on how to handle it created a rift between Julian and his father.

The specifics are unclear, but apparently Edelman and his father did not agree on how to handle the NFL's punishment. According to Julian's mother, the receiver didn’t want his dad a part of [the] process" because "he was handling it with his attorneys." This was what caused the rift between the two.

According to the documentary, the former Kent State quarterback didn't speak to his father for 81 days as a result.

Now, it appears as though things have been smoothed over, and the 33-year-old receiver is primed to have another great season fresh off of a new contract extension. And this year he's hoping to line up for all 16 games, if he stays off the juice.
