Julian Edelman Fuels Rumors He'd Join Tom Brady on Buccaneers With Latest Twitter Activity
By Adam Weinrib
Tom Brady is the most iconic New England Patriot of the past two decades (willing to debate you on this if you disagree), but Julian Edelman certainly deserves a spot in the conversation, considering the workmanlike attitude he embodies (and his college quarterbacking skills).
But, Edelman without Brady is poised to play out like a strange divorce in 2020, with the Super Bowl LIII MVP's superman skills likely lessened a bit without his QB in charge.
Unless...Jules can find a way to continue the bromance in Tampa Bay? Edelman seems to be on board, based off his Twitter activity.
Of course, this comes just a few weeks after Edelman, Brady, and Jimmy Fallon (currently not rumored to be a Buc) took in Syracuse-UNC courtside, and Edelman's lips proclaimed Brady would return to New England.
Is there any chance Bill Belichick, Nick Caserio, and company would even consider shipping Edelman south? Belichick's not one to pay for past performance, and if he senses Edelman is slipping (a reasonable take based on an injury-marred 2019!), he could be convinced to pull the trigger.
That being said, Belichick has never been one to tank, and an Edelman deal would be equivalent to a white flag being raised (half-mast, of course, RIP Tom Brady) above Patriot Place.
