Julius Randle Claps Back to Enes Kanter After Zion Williamson Comparison
By Sean Facey
Nothing satisfies the need for basketball quite like a Twitter beef to tide us over until free agency officially starts.
Enes Kanter drew the ire of Julius Randle after he called Zion Williamson "Julius Randle with hops," and meant it as an insult of course. This was Kanter attempting to detail a worst-case scenario.
And, as expected, Randle had a pretty solid inroad to a clapback -- and he pursued it.
Randle was quick to remind Kanter of the fact that he dropped 45 points while the big man was guarding him. He finished the game 20-for-34 from the field, a 58.8% clip, with 11 rebounds and six assists for the Pelicans.
Kanter originally made the comment while he was on air with Colin Cowherd, also adding that Williamson could become a Hall of Famer "if he develops his shot," again taking a dig at Randle.
But what's a good Twitter war without some back-and-forth action?
Kanter responded to Randle's online taunts, acknowledging full well what happened by reminding Randle that he and the Pelicans ended up taking the loss anyway.
It is a team sport, and to Kanter's credit, allowing 45 points hurts a whole lot less when it comes from a player who saw 42 minutes of action and still took the loss.
The next time the two players meet up, it might be wise to keep a close eye on them for any further trash talk.
Of course, that could apply to Kanter facing off with literally anyone.
