In the most recent NFL combine the fastest 40 time for a quarterback came from former Penn State Nittany Lion Trace McSorley, who posted a 4.57. That time, however, would've easily been beaten if Ohio State's Justin Fields was participating.

According to the Buckeyes' new quarterback, he posted an unreal 40 time back in May.

“The laser (time), was a 4.42 and then the hand (time) was a 4.38,” Fields said. “I didn’t think I was going to run it that fast. My goal was to get it under 4.45 laser. I definitely achieved that so (I’m) happy about that," Fields told Cleveland.com.

The Georgia transfer is one of the premier dual-threat quarterbacks in all of college football. Although he's got a solid throwing arm, he's well-known for his ability to make plays by running the ball.

Despite his crazy pace and natural skill, Fields hasn't yet been named the starter in Columbus. However, with the display he's put on in practices up to this point, it looks like he'll have no issue locking up that spot.

The anticipation for Fields just continues to grow as the college football season creeps up on us. Clearly there are plenty of doubts around him, but he should quickly debunk those once the Buckeyes face FAU at the 'Shoe in Week 1.
