Kansas AD's Apology for Snoop Dog Performance at Midnight Madness is Dumbest Thing Ever
By Ryan Giglio
The University of Kansas found out the hard way that Snoop Dog and a college campus can potentially be a dangerous mix.
Jayhawks AD Jeff Long felt the need to apologize after the rapper's "Late Night at the Phog" performance featured stripper poles and risquè dancing in front of an audience of students. But his statement was ultimately just as dumb as the controversy surrounding this entire situation.
The performance, which featured stripper poles and fake money being shot over the heads of prospective recruits, apparently caught Long off-guard. The university expected a "clean version" of Snoop's performance, and was in contact with his managers regarding the show's content.
However, it's clear that Long or anyone else from Kansas did their homework and received a first-hand preview the show.
"Late Night" has been a 35-year tradition to celebrate the start of a new basketball seaso in Lawrence. And this timne around, Long and Co. should have had a better understanding of whom and what they were dealing with.
