Chiefs Re-Signed Pro Bowl FB Anthony Sherman Probably Because He Looks Like a Deadly Viking Warrior

Fullbacks have essentially been phased out of today's NFL as featured offensive weapons. Anthony Sherman, howevr, has carved out a nice career for himself and played in all 16 games for the Kansas City Chiefs in each season since 2013.

The team has decided to get the band back together for 2020, and reportedly re-signed Sherman to a one-year deal as they set out to defend their Super Bowl title.

Sherman does not stuff the stat sheet, as he only had four rushes for nine yards last season along with two receptions for 22 yards. His impact comes in the blocking game, and he is also available to pick up a crucial yard when needed.

The fullback also happens to look like a Viking warrior, which certainly doesn't hurt when trying to instill fear in opposing defenders. With this in mind, he did not get named to the Pro Bowl in 2018 by accident.

Imagine trying to make a tackle and seeing a man with a mohawk, long beard, and huge American flag tattoo coming straight for you. The American flag part doesn't fit in with the whole Viking feel, but the point stands! Sherman is back for another season, and the Chiefs are keeping a veteran on offense who makes an impact that goes beyond what is seen in the box score.
