Kareem Hunt Saying Downtown Cleveland Incident Was a 'Wakeup Call' Proves He's Learned Nothing

Whenever a player that has a checkered past, especially one with a history of violence against women, is signed by an NFL team, part of the PR rhetoric teams will inevitably use to justify themselves include the assertion that the player in question has "learned his lesson." In the case of Kareem Hunt, however, that may not ring true.

The Cleveland Browns running back was released by the Kansas City Chiefs following the emergence of a video that showed him kicking a woman on the ground. Rather than be on his best behavior, Hunt was involved in a minor altercation in downtown Cleveland in June. Hunt described the incident as a "wakeup call."

THAT was your wake-up call, Kareem? Not the original incident or the release of the video that forever tarnished your reputation?

In response to his latest flurry of incidents with law enforcement, Hunt, who is suspended for the first eight games of the season, has vowed to "lay low," while also calling his incident with the cops a "misunderstanding."

So your big wakeup call was actually just a misunderstanding? Very consistent logic.

Hunt may not want to admit this, but his character questions will follow him for the rest of his career. Trying to avoid taking responsibility for what he's done isn't helping anyone.
