Kawhi Leonard and Paul George Were Only Clippers Starters to Score in First Half vs Timberwolves
By Karl Rasmussen
The Los Angeles Clippers are really a two-man wrecking crew on offense, as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combine for an average of 48.1 points per game.
Well, Friday night against the Timberwolves, PG and the Klaw combined for an astonishing 54 points, in the first half alone. In fact, they were the only two starters to score for the Clippers in the half, and the team still managed a seven-point lead at the intermission.
Leonard provided 31 points on 9-of-14 shooting across 17 minutes, knocking down two 3's and 11 free throws. It was a career-high in scoring for the Klaw in the first half. Meanwhile, George hit 9-of-16 shots for 23 points, draining three 3's.
The only other scorers in the half for the Clippers were Montrezl Harrell and Patrick Patterson, who combined for the other 11 points LA scored.
Leonard and George were both on a different level in the first half, making easy work of the Timberwolves defense.
With a tandem like that, it's almost impossible to handle the Clippers. These guys don't make it easy for their opponents on either side of the ball.
