Kawhi Leonard Reportedly Made 'Unreasonable' Requests in Meetings With Raptors
By Will Fowler
As the dust from Kawhi Leonard's free agency settles and we learn more and more about why he made the decision he did, the picture is starting to become clearer as to why he chose not to return north of the border.
According to a report from TSN, Kawhi "asked for a lot from the Raptors in that meeting, things players don't generally ask for in standard contract negotiations."
Though it's unclear what specifically the reigning Finals MVP asked for from his former team, we do know that it was too over the top -- hence, why he's now kicking it on the West Coast.
Whatever he did ask for, though, must have been a heck of a lot, considering Toronto and its fan base wanted him back so badly that they literally tracked his every move.
Regardless of what he required from Masai Ujiri, the fact of the matter is Leonard has teamed up with Paul George in Los Angeles. Nothing more can be done on Toronto's end.
But this report sure creates two more questions: what did Kawhi ask for, and how different would the NBA be if Kawhi chose to head back to the Six?
