KBO Officially Has its Own Aaron Judge and Jose Altuve
By Michael Luciano
One of the eternal sports truths is that pictures of really tall players standing next to really short players will always be hilarious, as proven by the multitude of pictures that show 6-7 Aaron Judge standing next to 5-5 Jose Altuve.
But, even without MLB action, it turns out there's still a way for us to get our tiny guy-large man fix.
South Korea's KBO now has their own version of that classic pic, as Monday night's game between the Samsung Lions and Lotte Giants saw a 5-4 second baseman stand next to a 6-5 first baseman.
The short end of this duo is Lions second baseman Ji-Chan Kim, who stands just 5-4. If the first baseman in this photo looks familiar to you, that's because he is former Seattle Mariners first baseman Dae-Ho Lee. Lee was one of the most popular players in the KBO before going to Japan and, eventually, the Mariners.
After hitting .253 with 14 home runs as a Mariner, Lee returned to Korea after one season in America when he signed the biggest free agent contract in KBO history.
In both size, stature, and popularity, Lee remains one of the biggest names in Korean sports to this day.
