Kelvin Benjamin Doesn't Appear at Giants' WR Workout Saturday Morning
By Adam Weinrib
Though trading a Hall of Fame-caliber wide receiver only to ultimately hand ball-hawking duties over to a retread you once drafted at your old stomping grounds sounds like a Dave Gettleman special, it actually won't be going down.
Kelvin Benjamin was on the Giants' initial invite list for a spot on the roster, following a season-ending injury to Corey Coleman, but per reports, he didn't make the trip to the showcase.
So that's no Dez, no Michael Crabtree, and no Benjamin. We're not sure what the makeup of this team is intended to be, but at the very least, they're not taking any wild swings to replace production.
The 28-year-old Benjamin put up 325 yards for the Bills in 12 games last season, before being cut from the roster and ultimately picked up by the Chiefs, where he became the sole WR not to thrive under Patrick Mahomes' tutelage.
Chalk this one up for the G-Men; they're momentarily less of a laughingstock than expected by many.
