Ken Rosenthal Calls Out ESPN for Failing to Credit 'The Athletic' on Dallas Keuchel Braves News
By Adam Weinrib

We understand you don't like the subscription model, ESPN, but you at least have to acknowledge it.
When free agent left-hander Dallas Keuchel signed with the Atlanta Braves Thursday evening, he ended a months-long lull and one of the biggest free agent bargaining disasters we've seen in recent years.
At long last, the news was broken by Dave O'Brien, formerly of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, but currently of The Athletic.
#Braves have agreed to terms with left-hander Dallas Keuchel, sources tell The Athletic.

Likely a one-year deal, but working to confirm that.
Unfortunately, that's not how ESPN saw things, and they were properly called out by Ken Rosenthal the morning after.
Uh, @ESPN, the man who broke the story - @DOBrienATL - works for The Athletic. He previously was with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. pic.twitter.com/ootdsC7Zct

Fight! Fight! Fight!
These two media entities will be battling for a long while, it seems, while the newbie of the bunch continues to establish a foothold in the industry with quality reporting, well-written profiles, and subtle side angles the Worldwide Leader doesn't generally have time for.
Least they could do is give credit where credit is due. The Athletic swiped an insider we were already familiar with from a prior gig, which is certainly becoming a trend. Time for ESPN to get focused and learn the list, too.
