San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, a gem from South Carolina that proved his worth as a rookie last season, suffered a broken foot during offseason workouts, which is exactly NOT what an already thin San Francisco receiving corps needed.

49ers wideout Kendrick Bourne thinks that former Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant would be the perfect addition to a beat up San Francisco receiver room, dropping the classic eyeballs emoji after mentioning both his team and Dez in a tweet.

With Samuel and Richie James both sidelined, the top four receivers on this club are Bourne, rookie Brandon Aiyuk, Jalen Hurd, who missed his entire rookie season, and Trent Taylor, who didn't play in 2019.

Bryant hasn't caught a pass in the NFL since 2017, and his brief cameo with the New Orleans Saints was cut short after just one practice due to an Achilles injury. While the slower, more physical Bryant might not mesh with a Kyle Shanahan offense that favors separation at the line of scrimmage and speed over strength, but his has as much experience and pedigree as anyone that is still available on the market.

Bryant might not be the best fit in Shanahan's offense, but he deserves one more chance to go out on top given how unceremoniously his career progressed in recent years, and San Francisco would give him the chance to chase a ring.
