Kentucky Star Tyrese Maxey Declares for NBA Draft

It would appear that John Calipari will be forced to combat yet another star-studded freshman class at Kentucky bolting for the NBA after just one season in Lexington.
ESPN insider Malika Andrews reported on Monday that Wildcats star point guard Tyrese Maxey will forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2020 NBA Draft.

Though he was a freshman, Maxey quickly emerged as one of the most complete point guards in the nation. For the season, he averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
If projections hold true, Maxey can expect to be one of the first players to hear his name called by NBA commissioner Adam Silver on Draft Day.

The news comes less than 24 hours after fellow star Kentucky guard Ashton Hagans entered his named into this year's draft class, so Calipari will once again have to reload with a new-look backcourt next season. That burden will become even more pressing if Immanuel Quickley declares, so stay tuned for updates on that front.
It appears the rumored roster massacre in Lexington may be coming to fruition.
