Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder entered the 2012 NBA Finals against LeBron James and the Miami Heat. They exited with their tails between their legs, utterly defeated. And four years later, after infamously blowing a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference Finals series advantage against Golden State Warriors, KD decided he'd had enough of OKC. He joined the team that eliminated him straight away.

This week, on the "All the Smoke" podcast co-hosted by Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, the Nets superstar spoke at length about the thought process behind leaving Oklahoma City. First things first: pretty much none of his teammates could make a jump shot.

This isn't hard to grasp, people! Once James Harden was gone from that roster, it was indeed pretty much all up to KD to knock down jays -- certainly those of the three-point variety. Russell Westbrook is a comically terrible jump-shooter, as is former teammates as Andre Roberson. Thabo Sefolosha, Perry Jones, Dion Waiters... the list, sadly, goes on and on.

It's not surprising that one of the greatest shooters and all-around scorers in basketball history might want to play with a couple other guys who can throw the rock into the tin from distance, too.

There's no need to sugar-coat it: Russell Westbrook is trash at shooting the basketball. He's basura caliente. KD shouldn't have to explain himself in terms of why he left Oklahoma City, but at the very least, he's clearly at peace with it by now.
