Kevin Durant Reignites Petty Twitter War With Tone-Deaf Comment about Being Too Sensitive
By Jerry Trotta
While we moderately respect Kevin Durant embracing the fact that he's hypersensitive, the Brooklyn Nets superstar has taken things way too far in this instance.
With Giannis Antetokounmpo set to hit free agency next summer, there's been widespread concern among NBA parody believers that he will join the Golden State Warriors to chase rings.
Matt Moore of the Action Network likened Antetokounmpo's impending free agency to Durant's polarizing decision in the 2016 offseason to join Golden State, and the latter unleashed an alarmingly hypocritical response about sensitivity.
Come on, KD.
There's nothing wrong with an impassioned back-and-forth on Twitter, but him being this tone deaf makes the conversation moot. After all, who's really sensitive here? Moore didn't dignify Durant's pettiness with a response, but that didn't prevent the 10-time All-Star from clapping back at another social media troll.
Somehow, this reply was worse than his previous one.
And, in the words of Chris Daughtry, it's not over!
Leave it to Durant to outdo himself in the petty department. Rather than resorting to petulance, why not provide followers with some intellectual insight in these replies? Just when you think the two-time Finals MVP has turned a corner, he relapses ten fold.
Antics like this make it extremely difficult to reckon with his decision to blindside Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Warriors. We thought we were past this, but Durant clearly isn't.
