Kevin Durant's Mom Calls Out the Haters in Emotional Twitter Post About Her Son
By Zack Jiang

Ever since Kevin Durant joined the Warriors, it seems he has been severely criticized from every possible angle. No matter how well he played on the court, people viewed him as weak for his decision to join his enemy instead of fortifying against them. However, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Durant proved to every doubter that his love for the game conquered all, by sacrificing his health to play for his team.
Durant ended up injuring his achilles and it seems sure to have a significant impact on his future. In the aftermath of the devastating scene, KD's mom tweeted an emotional post to call out the haters that have been unfairly criticizing her son.
For ALL of you who question my son as a Man, question his Heart, question his Integrity and question his LOVE for the game of basketball, you DON’T know him. He has a heart of a true Warrior! This too shall pass. God Bless you ALL. pic.twitter.com/y0qcQ5Boga

After what Durant did in Game 5, no one should question his toughness, will to win, or love for the game. He is potentially the best player in the world right now in the midst of his prime, but he still risked his health for his team, and it backfired in a harsh reminder of how swiftly narratives can change.
KD will undergo a MRI to confirm the severity of his injury, but the Warriors fear that the superstar has suffered a torn achilles tendon. The injury could possibly force Durant to miss the lion's share of next season, and would have massive domino effects in free agency.
The Warriors believe Kevin Durant’s MRI on Tuesday will confirm a torn right Achilles’ tendon, league sources tell me and @wojespn

No matter what fans thought of Durant as a person (or the person they'd convinced themselves he was, anyway), his presence will be missed. It looked like Durant's playoff dominance would be unmatched this postseason, and now, suddenly, the NBA's entire summer and Durant's future is in flux. Hopefully, he can deliver on the promise that had been laid out before everything changed.
