The Golden State Warriors are comfortably resting at home while awaiting their NBA Finals opponent after sweeping the Portland Trailblazers. However, it seems like their long break still isn't enough time for their superstar to recover.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Kevin Durant is unlikely to return for the start of the Finals.
Kevin Durant (calf strain) is unlikely to return for start of the NBA Finals, but the Golden State Warriors are hopeful that he returns at some point during.

While the Warriors are undefeated without Durant this postseason, they are undoubtedly a better team with him. Durant was on a tear before injuring his calf against the Rockets, averaging 34.2 points per game in the playoffs. With a matchup against a superstar wing like Kawhi Leonard or Giannis Antetokounmpo on the way, Durant's missing presence will be felt.
The good news is that the star forward is expected to return at some point during the series. The Warriors also could get back another stud in DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins injured his thigh in the first round, but is also expected to return during the Finals.

The Warriors have been dominating without Durant and Boogie, and should be able to hold their own without them. However, if they want the best chances at continuing their dynasty with a third-straight championship win, they'll want to be at full power.
