Kevin Love Reportedly Prefers the Cavaliers Trade Him to the Trail Blazers
With Kevin Love on the trade block, you'd think he'd want the Cavaliers to ship him to a contending team, right?
Well, according to reports, the 31-year-old power forward would actually prefer to be traded to the Portland Trailblazers. Call it a homecoming for the vet?
This sounds like an odd preference. After all, the Blazers aren't considered one of the top-tier teams in the NBA, let alone the Western Conference. But, Love already has a championship to his name. So with nothing left to prove, it seems like he now wants to play for his hometown team, having grown up in nearby Lake Oswego.
There's no chance the Blazers will start competing with powerhouses like the Lakers or Clippers if they acquired Love, but they would become a much more interesting team to watch. They could be an offensive juggernaut with a starting lineup consisting of Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Kevin Love, Hassan Whiteside and Carmelo Anthony.
Love is currently averaging 15.6 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. The former All-Star can clearly still play, so it would be great to see him on the court for a non-tanking team. We'll see if anything ends up developing here.
