Kevin Love Roasts Steph Curry Over 2016 Finals Claim
By Sean Facey
Even with the Warriors and Cavaliers saga in the rear-view mirror, players from both teams haven't forgotten the epic 2016 showdown between the two squads.
Kevin Love noticed Stephen Curry's claim about the waning seconds of the 2016 NBA Finals on Tuesday, and was quick to roast him, sticking up for his own defensive abilities.
The Golden State Warriors star said that he "could have easily gone around [Kevin Love]" and sunk a two-point field goal rather than pulling up from distance only to miss the shot. Love disagreed.
Naturally, Love took objection to the statement, roasting Curry's disrespectful choice of words.
And he has every right to scoff at the remark. Love was one of the better defenders in the NBA that year, posting a 102 defensive rating and registering a career-best 3.8 defensive win shares. We'll never forget exactly how effective Love was in the moment, either. He simply couldn't be shaken.
Curry got the last laugh, though, as the Warriors took the next two championships, and are seeking their third straight against the Toronto Raptors.
The two may not be squaring off against one another in the NBA Finals, but that won't stop them from chirping on social media over their past encounters.
