Khalil Mack Knows Bears Need to Win Now
By Scott Rogust
Last season, the Chicago Bears entered the playoffs with momentum and a downright scary defense. However, that all came to an end thanks to a missed game-winning field goal from Cody Parkey, allowing the Philadelphia Eagles to sneak out of the Windy City with the win.
Entering the 2019 season, the Bears are considered huge favorites in the NFC. While that's all well and good, stud linebacker Khalil Mack isn't having fun with it, as he knows he doesn't have time to be complacent, considering the short shelf life an NFL athlete has. He's "gotta win now."
"You're running out of time, man," Mack said, via NFL.com. "All these older dudes let us know at an early point in my career, man, we ain't got no time to waste."
During his first four years with the Oakland Raiders, Mack learned from seasoned veterans Charles Woodson and Justin Tuck just how fast one's career can end playing professional football, especially when they're not winning.
While Mack is far from the end of his career, he doesn't want to lean back and not have the sense of urgency to win a Super Bowl.
If you thought Khalil Mack was a quarterback destroyer last season in his first year with the Bears, now opponents will deal with an extra motivated disruptor along the line of scrimmage.
