Kirk Cousins Resurgence Needs to Continue or Vikings Stand No Chance Against Legitimate Competition
By Scott Rogust

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins was at one point this season the most critiqued quarterback in the league. The $84 million man had a dreadful first month of the 2019 season, as he couldn't hit wide open receivers or effectively read defenses.
After being called out by receiver Adam Thielen and watching a brief holdout by a frustrated Stefon Diggs, Cousins answered in a huge way in his last four games. This resurgence simply needs to keep going in order for the Vikings to stand a chance against legitimate competition this season.

With Minnesota's offense having a stud in running back Dalvin Cook to utilize, Cousins simply had to throw the ball effectively in order to lead to wins.
Cousins did just that, taking advantage of vulnerable defenses in the New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Detroit Lions in consecutive weeks. In total, Cousins threw for 976 yards, ten touchdowns, and just one interception in that three-week span.

On Thursday night, Cousins was essentially flawless against the Washington Redskins. Cousins completed an impressive 23-of-26 pass attempts for 285 yards, zero touchdowns, and more importantly, zero interceptions. That can be attributed to another strong game from Cook and Cousins finding Diggs wide open in Washington's porous defense.

The schedule only gets tougher for the Vikings, as they face the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys in consecutive weeks. That will be the true test for Kirk Cousins to show that Minnesota can be playoff contenders this season.
