Klay Thompson Doesn't Sound Optimistic With Latest Comments About Game 3 Availability
By Michael Luciano

With Kevin Durant on the mend, Klay Thompson has stepped up to replace his scoring and defense. Thompson was one of the key forces in the Golden State Warriors stealing Game 2 from the Toronto Raptors on the road. However, he was forced to leave the game with a hamstring strain before the final whistle.
Stuck as "questionable" all week, based on his latest comments, Thompson will likely miss Game 3, or will be severely limited if he does play.
Have to say, knowing Klay, this did not sound like he’s optimistic about playing — especially when he followed up with saying “if there’s any pain, it will be a no-go, because of the position we are in. This could be a long series.” https://t.co/VWcq4wrAJX

It goes without saying that this would be a major loss for the Warriors. Do you think Alfonzo McKinnie and Quinn Cook can provide both the shooting and defense Thompson can?
Thompson missing Game 3 in Oakland is not a foregone conclusion, however. Head coach Steve Kerr said that he "could be half dead and he would say he would be fine," which is both an ode to his toughness and an indication that Thompson could just tough this one out and suit up.
Steve Kerr on Klay Thompson: " Klay said he'll be fine, but Klay could be half dead, and he would say he would be fine. We'll see. He pulled his hamstring. He thinks it is minor, so I don't know what that means going forward."

Kawhi Leonard hasn't been the superhuman figure he was in the Eastern Conference Finals in large part to the defense of Thompson and Andre Iguodala. Toronto could easily snatch Game 3 from Golden State if Thompson can't go.
