Knicks Fans Have No Right to Be Angry About Andre Iguodala's Comments
By Charles Nason
The New York Knicks are so famously prickly at this point that, at first blush, we're not even 100% certain that the following tweet is a joke.
No, the Knicks don't actually want to fine Warriors veteran Andre Iguodala for speaking what he believes is the truth, nor do they want to ban him from their games. But the fact of the matter is that, judging by the ongoing war with the New York press that the Knicks are currently paying off, they can't take any criticism lying down.
But they'll have to; whatever positive steps they're taking these days to build from within aren't nearly enough to overcome decades of disastrous decisions.
After taking RJ Barrett with the third overall pick in the draft, the Knicks look like they've found their future star. They still hope to bring in a big name like Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant, but even the possibility of that seems wildly unlikely at this point. And there's no one external to blame for such things.
The Knicks could still make a big splash during the free agency period and turn their franchise around with the acquisition of KD or even Klay Thompson.
But who can really blame Iguodala for stating he doesn't think anybody will go to the disastrous Knicks? Fine or no fine, the Knicks have a perception problem, and have often backed into the exact wrong method of making it disappear.
